Education
Lori Thein Brody

Lori Thein Brody, PT, PhD, SCS, AT-Ret is a Professor in the Health Sciences PhD program at Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions in Provo, UT. She has also been a clinician at UW Health Science Drive Medical Center for over 35 years. She earned her first bachelor’s degree in physical education at Iowa State University and her second at the University of Missouri-Columbia in physical therapy. She earned her first and second master’s degrees and her PhD from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Dr. Brody has been a board-certified Sports Clinical Specialist (SCS) from the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties and has been a certified athletic trainer since 1986, recently retiring that certification. She taught in entry level physical therapy programs at Ithaca College and the University of Wisconsin-Madison until she found her passion for teaching graduate students at Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions. She has been teaching there originally in person, and now remotely, since 1996. She has co-authored two textbooks and has served on and chaired many boards and committees at the national level.

Dr. Brody has always loved teaching and educating, both to students and to clients. Whether talking with a client one-on-one, talking with our listeners on Wisconsin Public Radio, or creating a podcast for our physical therapy peers, it is the education piece that is the most interesting and satisfying. The best part of the day is when that education piece really clicks for someone, and it changes their understanding or outlook.
